Caption: Ji nan High tech Park
Ji'nan High-tech Park (JNHTP) is located at the eastern part of Ji'nan city. It was approved by the State Council as a state-level high-tech park in March 1991.
JNHTP's total development area is 9.26 km2. Within the Park, there are special parks in the east: Qilu Software Park, a University Science Park, an Electronics Industrial Park and Chemical Fiber Park.
Qilu Software Development Park (QLSDP) is located in the eastern part of Ji'nan High-tech Park, covering 38 ha. The administrative committee of QLSDP has planned to expand the total area to 120 ha and aims for QLSDP to become the largest and most comprehensive development base in China.
Shandong University Science Park (SDUSP), one of China's first 22 national university science parks, is located in Ji'nan. It comprises an Entrepreneur Zone and an Industrial Zone.
The Entrepreneur Zone is located just beside the campus of Shandong University while the 22-ha Industrial Zone is located in the Ji'nan Economic Technological Development Zone (JNETDZ). The latter is divided into six functional areas: a 2-ha Optical-Electronics subzone, a 4-ha Electric and Electrical Engineering sub-zone, a 2-ha New Materials sub-zone, a 5-ha Biotechnology cum New Medicine sub-zone, a 2.5-ha New Energy and Environment Protection Technologies sub-zone, and the 6-ha Information Technologies sub-zone.
